Emfuleni Resorts, subsidiary of Sun International, appoints new chair

Seasoned Eastern Cape businessman Stephen Dondolo has been appointed as new chairman of Emfuleni Resorts Pty Ltd, a subsidiary company of Sun International Group.

Sun International Group together with their empowerment partner, Zonwabise, co-own the Emfuleni Resort trading as Boardwalk, the only licenced casino in Gqeberha.

Emfuleni Resorts is the biggest black owned leisure company in the Eastern Cape. Catalysed by its meaningful investments in Boardwalk, Emfuleni Resorts became a pioneer black industrialist, contributing to the economic growth and job creation in the province. Dondolo, the Group CEO of investment holding company African Pioneer Group and Chairman of Coca Cola Beverages Southern Africa, takes over the reins from Bongi Siwisa, who held the position for more than 12 years.

Dondolo is also the Executive Chairman of Pioneer Fishing Group, the fourth largest fishing conglomerate in the Southern Africa, and a shareholder and the Chairman of the Audit Committee at Woodlands Dairy, a huge industry player in the dairy industry and other food companies.
