Following the acquisition of the Fortis Group in early August, Clinton Armour CEO of ANEW Hotels & Resorts, has announced that Hunters Rest in Rustenburg, will be the first of the six recently acquired hotels, to receive the ANEW rebrand.

The ANEW stable now comprises 10 hotels and resorts countrywide and manages just under 1000 keys.

“We’re so excited to add ANEW Resort Hunters Rest to our growing portfolio,” says Mr Armour, “because it has such an amazing history and is an integral part of the tourism story in this part of the world. The influence of the Nathan Family makes us feel as if we have acquired a private home and not a hotel!”

“This is such an exciting property to have in our group,” Mr Armour enthuses.

“It’s location adjacent to the Kgaswane nature reserve and the fantastic leisure, business and MICE facilities, certainly makes this the group’s flagship resort.”

ANEW Resort Hunters Rest boasts hot and cold swimming pools, a spa, a 9-hole 3-par mashie golf course, putt-putt and a kids play park.

“The new adventure centre with hiking, quad biking, archery, paintball, mini soccer, volleyball, mountain biking, and bicycle rental is a massive drawcard,” Mr Armour says.

“ANEW’s focus on pricing and product distribution, combined with a strong focus on harnessing technology to improve the GUEST experience, will be the biggest benefits to the hotel going forward,” says ANEW Resort Hunters Rest General Manager, Pieter Buitendag.

On that score, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the safety of guests, patrons and staff being a top priority, ANEW Hotels and Resorts was one of the first hotel groups in South Africa to use the Opus4Business tourism & hospitality application (App), ensuring that the visitor experience at the 10 properties countrywide, was not only compliant, but uncompromised.
