The Manor House on Fancourt estate has been voted South Africa’s Leading Country House Hotel 2018 by the World Travel Awards. The announcement was made at the World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2018 at the iconic Hilton Hotel in Durban where Jayne Barlow, manager of The Manor House, accepted the award.

The gala ceremony – one of the most prestigious travel and tourism events of the year – brought together the leading tourism figureheads and VIPs from across Africa and the Indian Ocean and formed part of the silver jubilee World Travel Awards Grand Tour 2018.

A national monument, The Manor House is set in beautiful gardens and the rolling landscapes of Fancourt in the heart of South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route. This recently refurbished luxury boutique hotel is the historic former home of the estate’s founder, Henry Fancourt White.

The World Travel Awards are voted for by travel and tourism professionals and consumers worldwide, and this accolade recognises the commitment to excellence which The Manor House has demonstrated over the last 12 months.

Peter Dros, Director of Sales and Marketing at Fancourt, was justifiaby elated by the achievement. “We are exceptionally proud of this award. Receiving acknowledgement on this level highlights the effort that goes into running The Manor House. It serves as recognition to all our staff who consistently put their best foot forward, and who work tirelessly behind the scenes. The hard work has absolutely paid off.”
