aha Hotels & Lodges is pleased to announce the appointments of Jannie Claassen as general manager at Ivory Tree Game Lodge and Alwyn Kellerman, general manager at Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge. These 5 star lodges located in The North West Province are managed by aha Hotels & Lodges.
Jannie Claassen, newly appointed general manager of Ivory Tree Game Lodge has over 30 years’ experience gained locally and internationally within the tourism industry, with the last 5 years gained whilst working abroad.
Jannie’s experience includes hotel operations, conferencing, food & beverage and general management. He’s held various positions over the years having worked at Medjumbe Private Island Resort as General Manager, Deputy General Manager and Food & Beverage Manager at Double Tree by Hilton, General Manager at Paradise @ Koh Yao, Warwick Ibah Luxury Villas & Spa and Kanda Residences. Jannie has a documented track record of success in managing five-star hotels and remote island resorts and brings with him a wealth of experience.
Alwyn Kellerman, the newly appointed general manager at Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge has over 28 years in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Alwyn has gained a greater part of his management experience through the various management positions he has occupied, which include deputy general manager at Bakubung Hotel & Lodge, general manager at SOPA Lodges as well as general manager at Hotel White Sands, Resort & Conference Centre. He’s also worked for Sun International at Sun City’s The Palace Hotel and Thaba Nchu Sun Hotel & Casino.
Alwyn has also occupied the following positions through his career; Night Manager, Front Office Manager and Rooms Division Manager at Caledon Casino, Hotel and Spa brings with him a wealth of experience.
Prior to joining aha Hotels & Lodges, Alwyn occupied the role of COO for The Oyster Bay Group.
