SAACI congress starts in Bloem
The 30th SAACI Congress started yesterday, 5 June 2016, with a welcome lunch at Kopano Nokeng Country Lodge in Bloemfontein.
Alex Granger, master of ceremonies, opened day one and Adriaan Liebetrau, chief executive officer of SAACI welcomed delegates.
The first panel discussion looked at qualifications, accreditation and education. The panelists were Karen Kotowski from Convention Industry Council; Mandisa Silo, Cape Peninsula University of Technology; Nellie Swart CMP, Unisa and Pieter Swart CMP, Conference Consultancy SA.
They made valid points while debating the need for for qualifications and accreditation.
Kevin Horsely was the last speaker of the day. He certainly got everyone’s attention with his fascinating topic – mindfulness. In summary he said wherever you are be there.
He added multitasking is a myth. He suggested we all practice single tasking. He gave delegates good suggestions and even exercises on how to better ones memory.
