South Africa’s leading boating, fishing, diving and outdoor lifestyle businesses are uniting under one roof to bring you their latest and best new products. South Africa’s largest indoor leisure boating event, the Johannesburg Boat Show, officially kicks off the outdoor season from 14 – 16 August 2015 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.

Featuring hundreds of boats for cruising, skiing, wakeboarding and fishing as well as marine engines and technology, visitors will have the opportunity to view the latest arrivals on the South African market. Also featured are aftermarket accessories, wakeboarding and ski equipment, dive schools, diving and fishing equipment and outdoor braais and accessories.

Suzuki Marine boasts a strong line-up of new products and technology. The Suzuki DF200A four-cylinder outboard range recently scooped the 2015 “Top Product” award from US magazine, Boating Industry. Weighing just 226kg, over 12% lighter than the existing V6 DF200 model, the DF200A benefits from a host of high-end specifications aimed at delivering unique benefits to customers.

The Suzuki SS series 4-stroke outboard motors will also make their debut at the show. These motors feature a striking matte black paint job and aggressive graphics and will look at home on practically any boat but especially on performance boats, flats, skiffs and even the new breed of performance pontoons. Suzuki’s proven 150 horsepower outboards, known low-end torque and eye-watering top speeds now join the high performance 4.0 litre 250SS V6.

Another first is the introduction of the Suzuki Keyless Start System which will enhance security and confidence for boat owners. A coded key-fob transmits an access code the engine’s starting system when within one metre of the console. With the key-fob safely in the owner’s pocket the risk of lost keys is reduced and theft is deterred as the outboard will not start without the access code. On top of all this the key-fob flats for easy retrieval should it inadvertently go overboard.

Suzuki will also unveil its new Multi-Function Gauge which displays a wide variety of information including engine rpm, speed, trim angle and diagnostics based on digital data received from the outboard motor. The next generation gauge – complete with colour display – offers great reliability providing the operator with accurate warning information.

Special features ensure the Johannesburg Boat Show is fun for those just looking to get a taste of summer in the middle of Gauteng’s winter. Go Fish Fishing Clinics, SAMSA Marine Safety Clinics, the Jetovator, Ride and Drive opportunities presented by Kia and Harley-Davidson, Pro-Super Enduro event, Red Bull X-Fighters and drifting all ensure to a fun-filled weekend.

It could take weeks to view as many new boats but visitors have the opportunity to view them all under one roof over one weekend. The Johannesburg Boat Show is the best place to shop for all things boating and outdoor. Start the 2015 summer season as a boat owner instead of as a boat buyer!
