The Liverpool International Academy SA are delighted to announce the arrival of Ray Curtis in South Africa. Ray is joining the Liverpool FC International Academy South Africa as head coach and will be based in Durban. Ray will be responsible for the technical delivery of all the LFC coaching programmes here in South Africa which will include working with our group of coaches to pass on his knowledge and understand of the ‘Liverpool Way’ and to ensure that our young participants get an authentic Liverpool FC experience on our programmes.
Ray joins us from the Liverpool FC Academy and is an experienced head coach, having worked on a range of coaching projects for LFC. He has a UEFA B coaching license, and is a Football Association tutor and coach mentor.
Ray Curtis commented: “This is great opportunity for me to represent Liverpool FC in South Africa, passing on my knowledge and expertise to the young players and coaches. This is a fantastic project for the club and I’m really looking forward to getting started. I visited Durban in December to oversee the first LFC coaching programmes in the country. On that trip I experienced a lot of passion for LFC and young players that are eager to learn and take on board the information that we passed on to them. There’s huge potential with this project and I’m delighted to be part of it.”
Ray will be a huge asset to the LFC International Academy South Africa and we’re excited to have him on board. Welcome to South Africa Ray!
