Tony Rubin has been appointed general manager of the SAB World of Beer, effective November 2014.
Mr Rubin brings more thanr four decades of hospitality industry experience to the five-star conference and event venue in Newtown, Johannesburg – in the food and beverage sector, business development and in operations and planning.
Prior to joining South African Breweries, he was the managing director of Maropeng, the official visitor centre of the Cradle of Humankind.
Under his management (2007-2014), Maropeng achieved numerous accolades including “Top Visitor Attraction SA” in the SA Tourism Welcome Awards and “Top Attraction in Gauteng” in the Lilizela Awards, as well as “Top Attraction in the Roots and Culture Category in South Africa”. The Maropeng Conference Centre was also recognised as the “Top Conference Centre in the 4-Star Category in South Africa”.
Mr Rubin also worked for the Southern Sun group for 30 years and in this time was given the CEO’s award for Excellence in People Management.
