By Debbie De Villiers, president of the Site SA Chapter
SITE SA is very proud to announce that Daryl Keywood has been elected to the SITE International board of directors.
SITE leaders that are elected onto the board of directors are passionate advocates of the SITE vision and work on behalf of the global network to achieve SITE’s strategic goals.
Daryl Keywood is the managing director of Walthers DMC based in Gauteng.
Originally from Cape Town, Daryl moved to Johannesburg to work on a one year project and is still there 27 years later. After obtaining a degree in marketing, Daryl worked as a sales and marketing manager of National Starch and Chemical, one of the Unilever companies.
He joined Walthers as managing director 14 years ago, taking over the business from Klaus Walther, the company founder. This was a complete shift in career, but his marketing and leadership skills helped to steer Walthers into a new era.
Daryl is married to Heidi Keywood who works alongside him at Walthers as marketing director. Not only is he dedicated to his wife and two sons, but also to his Nespresso machine and his bicycle. He has successfully completed both the Argus Cycle tour and the 94.7 ride annually for the past 13 years.
To the Walthers team and his colleagues in the industry, Daryl is a warm hearted leader and an endless source of useful information which he shares with a cheerful disposition and boundless patience. He leads from the front, setting an example and never expecting his staff to do anything he would not do himself.
SITE SA is extremely proud of Daryl’s achievement and wish him every success with his appointment. We will be there to support him all the way!
