Resort Condominium International (RCI), the largest timeshare-brokering company in the world, has once again recognised The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel as a leader in its class, presenting the resort and its staff with a number of accolades at the 26th Annual RCI Oscars, the time-share industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony.
In recognition of its consistently superior quality and service delivery, The Peninsula joined other hotels in receiving the RCI Gold Crown Resort designation for 2013 – a status accorded to just five per cent of RCI-affiliated resorts worldwide each year – and was also voted one of RCI’s Top Gold Crown Resorts in the “Large Resort” category.
This year, The Peninsula was also presented with a special trophy for sustainability, in recognition of its highly successful endeavour to improve and sustain its status as a forerunning resort in the time-share industry – an achievement attributed to the hotel’s people development and social responsibility programmes, as well as the capital investment made into furthering growth each year.
“It is always a great honour for The Peninsula to have our unwavering efforts to achieve service excellence acknowledged, and be ranked among the leading holiday resorts in the world. We look forward to living up to and exceeding this standard in the years to come, and we are especially proud of the employees who helped to make this happen,” said general manager Chris Godenir.
At the Oscars, Mr Godenir was named one of the managers of the year in the RCI Awards for Developer Achievement in Africa (RADAs), which pays tribute to the vital role played by RCI’s affiliates in the success of the vacation ownership industry. RADAs for Employee of the Year also went to guest services clerk Zulfa Smith, porter Brian Jacobs, and driver Abubaker Siljeurs.
“Winning these awards really means a lot to us because we all work very hard to make The Peninsula a place that guests want to return to year after year. The staff are like one big family, which is why it is such a pleasure for us to do what we do,” says long-standing employee and RADA-winner Zulfa Smith, echoing the proud sentiments of her colleagues, who share her passion for outstanding service.
The award-winning Peninsula All-Suite Hotel is the epitome of exclusive, yet understated Cape hospitality, and is one of the most celebrated landmarks along the Sea Point Promenade Platinum Mile on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard.
